Shirley Temple at Paramount with
Carole Lombard and Gary Cooper.

Between Shirley's spunky curls, penetrating eyes, spontaneous actions, and her optimistic smile that could melt the heart of every American during the Depression, Temple was a shoe-in for child-star success. She was the number one box office star, from 1935-1938. Her can-do-attitude only made others feel guilty for ever having a doubtful thought. People stood in awe as she swept audiences off their feet in roles with stars like Bill "Bojangles" Robinson.

Some of the movies that made her famous are "Little Miss Marker" (1934), "The Little Colonel" (1935), "Heidi" (1937), "Wee Willie Winkie" (1937), and "The Little Princess" (1939), which was her last blockbuster.
