More About Liza Minnelli...
Liza Minnelli started her career
in show business in New York City. She received recognition
by the critics for her play, BEST FOOT FORWARD, in 1963 at the
age of 17!
In 1964, when Liza was 18, her
mother Judy Garland, invited her to perform with her at the
London Palladium, which really launched her musical career.
At the age of 19, Liza Minnelli
won her first Tony Award. Over her long career, Liza won three
Tonys: One for FLORA- THE RED MENACE, one for THE ACT, and a
special citation.
At 23, the world knew that Liza
Minnelli was a talented actress as well as a phenomenal singing
talent. She earned a Best Actress nomination for her portrayal
of Pookie Adams, in THE STERILE CUCKOO, in 1969.
Liza received an Emmy for her
television special, LIZA WITH A Z.
Since 1991 to the present, Liza's
career has been focussed on the stage, in recording albums /
CDs, and doing several television specials.
In 1999 / 2000, Liza Minnelli
starred in a one woman show, MINNELLI, a tribute to her father
at The Palace Theater on Broadway, in New York City.
