Tall, handsome, and with a great speaking voice,
Gregory Peck was the embodiment of the good guy/hero. Although
initially called "wooden" by critics, Gregory Peck
overcame that label, establishing a long career as a popular,
and critically acclaimed leading man.
Gregory Peck's defining role was as a small
town lawyer in TO
KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, for which he won the Best Actor Oscar.
Peck's other notable roles include ON
THE BEACH, SPELLBOUND, THE
GUNS OF NAVARONE, and CAPE FEAR. Gregory Peck, late in his
career played the role of a Nazi doctor in THE BOYS FROM BRAZIL,
one of his rare villains. He was surprisingly effective.
