Fred Astaire - the dancer

A singer, dancer and actor, Fred Astaire was an extraordinary talent who made everything he did look easy, although he apparently worked very hard to create that effect.

Astaire's defining role was with dance partner Ginger Rogers in TOP HAT. Fred Astaire's notable films include: SWING TIME, FUNNY FACE, and THE TOWERING INFERNO.

Late in his career, Fred Astaire played Robert Wagner's father for one season on the popular 1960's TV series, IT TAKES A THIEF.
