More Charlton Heston
Heston's persona may seem outdated, but that's
only because he seems too large for life. Charlton Heston
started off as posing nude for art students to make ends
meet, and is currently mocking himself in Bud Lite commercials.
He's got guts, if anything. Yet, in the
1950 's, he defined "Action Hero". We may not
trust such unfathomable figures nowadays, but believe it,
they did exist, and Heston is the solid iron proof.
From "The Ten Commandments" (1956),
and "Touch Of Evil" (1958), to "Ben-Hur"
(1959), "El Cid" (1959), and "Planet Of The
Apes" (1968), Charlton Heston has portrayed characters
whose personas were larger than life, with a quality that
is rarely seen on the modern day silver screen. (CD) |
