Charlie Chaplin - the Tramp
Charles "Charlie"
Chaplin was one of the first super stars of cinema, and
he made the transition from the silent era to the talkies.
Charlie Chaplin's silent classics include: THE KID, ONE
A.M., and THE GOLD RUSH.
When he started doing "talkies",
Charlie Chaplin's defining role was in CITY LIGHTS. Other
notable Charlie Chaplin films include: MODERN
TIMES, THE
GREAT DICTATOR, and MONSIEUR VERDOUX.
Many like to think Charlie
Chaplin paved the way for other such prodigies like Jerry
Lewis, Woody Allen, and Robin Williams. But, as "People"
one quoted, "Unlike them, unlike anyone else, he
got the whole world to agree."
