Yvette Mimieux was born in LA to a Mexican mother and French father.

Yvette Mimieux starred in the 1960 movie Where the Boys Are. Yvette Mimieux played the dreamy Melanie. Melanie's romantic yearnings can't be satisfied by a jaunt to Fort Lauderdale with her girlfriends, in search of male beach hunks.

In the 1960 sci-fi movie The Time Machine, an adaptation of the H. G. Wells novel, Yvette Mimieux plays Weena, an Eloi girl from the future. The character Weena is who the time traveling scientist falls in love with.

Mimieux played in the 1968 action movie, Dark of the Sun. The film is about the adventures of a soldier of fortune, out to save the lives of 62 people and pick up $50 million in diamonds at the same time. The Lead of Dark of the Sun is played by Rod Taylor. The film received intense criticism at the time for scenes of extreme violence. Mimieux played a pretty widow that rival characters compete for.

In the 1979 sci-fi movie, The Black Hole, Yvette Mimieux plays a research scientist in a exploration space ship. She encounters a madman occupying a ship on which her father was once the first mate.

In 1984, she wrote, co-produced and starred in Obsessive Love. This television movie about an unstable character who fantasizes constantly about her favorite soap opera star. She finally sets out to catch him.

Yvette Mimieux appeared in over 40 movies and television shows (including Dr. Kildare and The Love Boat) as well as movies. She is now retired from acting to pursue her interest in Anthropology and a career in real estate investing.
