Tim Curry was born on April 19, 1946 in Grappenhall, Cheshire,
England.
Tim's first professional success was in the London production
of HAIR.
Tim Curry work in the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Glasgow
Civic Repertory Company, and the Royal Court Theater where
the role of Frank N. Furter in THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW
was created and made Tim a star. Curry recreated the role
in the Los Angeles and Broadway productions and starred in
the screen version entitled THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW
(1975)
Curry originally auditioned for the role of Rocky in THE
ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW by singing the Little Richard song
TOOTIE FRUITIE.
Tim earned two Tony Award Nominations, the first in 1981
for Best Actor in a Play for AMADEUS and the second in 1993
for Best Actor in a Musical for MY FAVORITE YEAR.
Tim Curry won the Royal Variety Club Award as "Stage Actor
of the Year".
Tim is a composer and a singer. Tim Curry toured the US and
Europe with his own band and released four albums for A&M
records. Curry's distinctive voice can be heard on more than
a dozen audio books, and in countless animated television
series and videos Tim provides the voice of "Sir" who welcomes
visitors to the Alien Encounter attraction in Tomorrowland
at Walt Disney World.
