Tia Carrere was born on January 2, 1967 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Carrere's birth name is Althea Rae Duhinio Janairo.
At the age of 11 Tia was taking vocal lessons to fulfil her
dream of becoming a famous singer.
Tia worked as a model, and a singer. She released an album
called DREAM. In 1985 Tia was an acting contestant on STAR
SEARCH, she lost in her first round.
At the age of seventeen Carrere was discovered in a grocery
store by a film producer who thought she would be perfect
for the part of Lani in ALOHA SUMMER (1988).
In 1992 Tia Carrere was "Cassandra" in WAYNES WORLD,
she performed all her songs as the singer and featured on
the soundtrack.
Tia was featured in Playboy Magazine, January 2003 edition.
In 2001 Carrere was ranked # 69 in FHM-USA's 100 Sexiest Women.
In 1992 Tia Carrere was named one of the "50 Most Beautiful
People in the World" by people magazine.
