Richard A. Dysart was born on March 30, 1929 in Augusta, Maine.

Richard grew up in Kennebac Valley, Maine. His talent appeared early. He worked for his local radio station during his youth. He earned a Master's degree in Speech Communication at Emerson College.

Bring to life the animated character of Cogliostro in the TV series SPAWN, Richard A. Dysart also played the same character in the Todd McFarlane's Spawn and Spawn 3: Ultimate Battle.

Richard Dysart has been seen on several TV series including L.A. Law, East Side/west Side, The Defenders, and All In The Family.

When the time machine takes Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd back in time, they have a run in with Dysart, who portrays a barbed wire salesman in Back To The Future Part III.

Richard Dysart has played General Dwight D. Eisenhower in two made for TV movies: Churchill And The Generals, in 1979, and in 1986 with The Last Days Of Patton.

Another famed role for Richard A. Dysart was portraying J. Edgar Hoover in 1993's made for TV movie Marilyn & Bobby: Her Final Affair, and then in the 1995 movie Panther.

Dysart died at home in Santa Monica, California on April 5, 2015, after a long bout with cancer. He was 86 years old.
