About Ramon Rodriguez (1979 – )
Ramon Rodriguez was born in Rio Piedras in Puerto Rico on September 24, 1979. He grew up surrounded by his sisters and raised by his mom, in a tiny apartment in Lower Manhattan. He still lives in that same apartment today.
Rodriguez has three older sisters and three younger brothers, all of whom live in Puerto Rico.
He attended high school in Michigan, where he played basketball in the 11th and 12th grades. He continued on the basketball court at Wheeling Jesuit University for a couple of years, before moving on to New York University and earning a degree in sports management. His athletic and musical aptitude opened several professional doors for him, leading to opportunities as diverse as working for Nike, the New York Knicks, basketball performance groups, the Abakua Latin Dance Company (a salsa dance troupe), and gigs where he played piano and conga drums.
Rodriguez played the character of Bosley in the blink-and-you-missed-it 2011 TV reboot of the Charlie's Angels series. More recently, in 2014, Rodriguez starred as Ryan Lopez in the Fox TV series Gang Related, which was cancelled after one season.
Rodriguez is probably best known for his roles on two television series, the HBO Maryland-set drama The Wire and the ABC thriller Day Break, in which he played Damien Ortiz.

“Enjoying the ride that is life and spreading love along the way and giving back whenever possible. I don’t always get a chance to respond to all the questions I get on social media, so I wanted to take the time to answer your questions, and share what it's like in my world. Peace...”
[On his role in Gang Related] “I’ve always been drawn to tormented characters and he’s someone who comes from a messed up background. He’s trying to do the right thing, but his loyalty is torn.”
