Ralph Macchio was born on November 4, 1961, in Huntington, Long Island, New York.

In 1980 Ralph Macchio started his career as an actor in the movie Up The Academy (1980), a Mad Magazine comedy, directed by Robert Downey Sr.

Playing a teenager from the wrong side of the tracks, Ralph Macchio was Johnny Cade in the The Outsiders.

Ralph Macchio is best known for his performance in The Karate Kid, which told the story of a bullied teenager, who, with the help of apartment handy man Pat Morita, learns how to stand up for himself using the martial arts. The movie also starred Elisabeth Shue, Martin Kove, and William Zabka.

Ralph married the love of his life, Phyllis Fierro, on April 5th, 1987. They have two children.

Mistaken as a murderer, Ralph Macchio was defended by Joe Pesci in the court case comedy My Cousin Vinny in 1992. This movie also starred Marisa Tomei.

Making his writing and directing debut in 2002 Ralph Macchio pulled together the movie Love Thy Brother, which starred Gideon Jacobs, Bobby Boriello, and Todd Weeks.

Ralph Macchio portrayed the character Archie Rodriguez in the TV series Ugly Betty (2008-2009).
