P.J. Soles was born on July 17, 1950 in Frankfurt, Germany.
Sometimes P.J. Solesis credited as Pamela Jayne Soles. Her
birthname is Pamela Jayne Hardon.
For P.J. Soles audition for CARRIE she wore a red baseball
hat, which director Brian De Palma loved. He told her to bring
it with her when they started shooting. The first thing he
said to her on the set was, "Did you bring your red baseball
hat?" She ended up wearing that hat for the majority of the
film. In P.J. Soles' death scene in CARRIE she is knocked
dead/unconscious by a wild water hose; in actuality the hose
broke her eardrum and she really was unconscious for that
scene.
In 1979 P.J. Soles was injured during the filming of her
movie ROCK N ROLL HIGH SCHOOL.
At one of the Ramones concerts P.J. Soles sang ROCK N ROLL
HIGH SCHOOL with them. John Carpenter, wanted P.J. Soles for
his film HALLOWEEN after seeing CARRIE. He selected her to
play Lynda partly because he felt she said the word "Totally"
the best of all those auditioning for the part.
