American leading man born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

Peter Weller traveled extensively as a child. Peter Weller's father, a career Army helicopter pilot, literally flew around the world. Before Peter was out of his teens, he had attended high schools in Heidelberg, Germany and San Antonio, Texas, then enrolled at North Texas State University.

Peter Weller was attracted to the North Texas State University by the chance of playing trumpet in one of the college's celebrated jazz bands.

In Richard Lester's Butch And Sundance: The Early Days, in 1979, Peter Weller made his film debut.

In 1983, Peter Weller won the Best Actor Award at the Paris International Film Festival, for his performance in the film, Of Unknown Origin, fighting a giant rat.

In 1984, Peter Weller was in a jazz band with actor Jeff Goldblum. They were also in a band together in the movie, The Adventures Of Buckaroo Banzai Across The 8th Dimension.
