Peter Boyle was born on October 18, 1935 in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania.
Boyle died on December 12, 2006.
Before deciding to pursue a career in acting, Boyle was a
monk in the Christian Brothers order. In the 1950s Peter's
father hosted a popular childrens lunchtime cartoon show in
Philadelphia Titled LUNCH WITH UNCLE PETE.
Peter's wife Loraine was a reporter for ROLLING STONE when
they first met, he was in his full make-up for YOUNG FRANKENSEIN.
Through her friendship with Yoko Ono, Peter met and became
best friends with ex-Beatle John Lennon. John Lennon was best
man at Peter's wedding to Lorraine.
On TV, he won raves playing Senator Joseph McCarthy in TAIL
GUNNER JOE (1977) and had his own short-lived series, JOE
BASH (1986).
In 1968 Peter Boyle made his first film appearances in THE
VIRGIN PRESIDENT.
Unable to talk for 6 months after Peter Boyle suffered a
stroke in 1990.
Peter Boyle is best known for his role as Frank Barone in
EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND (1996-2005) as the father of Raymond.
Boyle commutes between Los Angeles and his home in New York
City for the filming of EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND.
