Paul Sorvino was born on April 13, 1939, in Brooklyn, New
York
He grew up in an Italian-American culture, and speaks fluent Italian. Originally, Paul had his heart set on being an opera singer, but wound up making a great living as an actor, both on stage and in the movies.
At the age of 30, in 1970, Paul Sorvino made his film debut
in the classic, WHERE'S POPPA, portraying the owner of "Gus and Grace's Home".
In 1993, Paul Sorvino was named King of Brooklyn, at the
Welcome Back to Brooklyn festival.
For a year, in 1993, Paul Sorvino was on the crime series, LAW AND
ORDER, in place of George Dzundza. Paul filled in
for Raymond Burr in the TV movie, PERRY MASON.
Playing the role of an Italian father stuck in his ways,
Paul Sorvino was Frank DeLucca in the TV Series, THAT'S LIFE.
Sorvino was also the director of the series.
In 1973, Paul Sorvino was nominated for a Broadway Tony Award

Paul Sorvino had a gift in playing top notch tough guys. In 1990, Paul was
in the mob in Martin Scorsese's gangster film, GOODFELLAS, portraying mob boss, Paul Cicero.
Under tons of makeup, Paul Sorvino was hardly recognizable
in Warren Beatty's movie, DICK TRACY, in 1990, playing Lips Manlis.
Working with his past co-stars, Paul Sorvino has appeared
with former series stars in LAW & ORDER, on two occasions; in
THE FIRM with Steven Hill, and with Chris Noth, in MR. 3000.
In episodes 26-50, Paul Sorvino was the host in the TV series,
BEHIND BARS, in 1994.
