About Paul Dooley (1928 – )
Paul Dooley was born on February 22nd, 1928, originally named Paul Brown in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

One of his first jobs in his youth was drawing cartoons for the local paper. After a stint in the Navy, he studied acting in college.

After moving to New York, he made it onto Broadway as a stage actor. In between shows, Paul was a stand-up comedian in various entertainment clubs in the Big Apple. Other gigs involved being a magician and a clown.

His big break on Broadway was being cast as one of the poker playing friends in the 1965 production of THE ODD COUPLE. Paul was the next Felix after the original actor, Art Carney, left the play, and got the opportunity to act with Walter Matthau.
