About Patricia Arquette (1968 – )
Patricia Arquette was born in Chicago, Illinois, on April 8, 1968, the daughter of Lewis Arquette (1935–2001), an actor, and Brenda Olivia "Mardi" (née Nowak; 1939–1997), who was also involved in the arts. Her birth name is Patricia T. Arquette. She is distantly related through her father to explorer Meriwether Lewis. Arquette's mother was Jewish. Her paternal grandfather was comedian Cliff Arquette; all of her siblings — Rosanna, Alexis, Richmond, and David — are actors.
Starting in 1987, Arquette's first starring roles included that of pregnant teenager Stacy in the television film Daddy, boarding school student Zero in Pretty Smart, and Kristen Parker in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors.
In the early ‘90s she played the hero's cousin/lover in Ethan Frome, the strung-out heroine in the luridly violent True Romance, and the hero's lesbian sister in Inside Monkey Zetterland. She also won notice with her portrayal of Kathy O'Hara, the second wife of Hollywood's legendarily bad director Ed Wood, in Tim Burton's eponymous bio-pic.
In January 2005, she starred in her first television series, NBC's Medium, in which she played a fictionalized version of psychic medium Allison DuBois. Her performance earned her an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in 2005, and a string of nominations in the same role in subsequent years. After NBC cancelled Medium in 2009, CBS picked the show up for another two seasons. In 2013, she starred on Boardwalk Empire as Sally Wheet. In 2014, Arquette won critical acclaim for Boyhood, an ongoing project Arquette has been a part of for 12 years, beginning in 2002.
Arquette gave birth to son Enzo Rossi on January 3, 1989, with then-boyfriend musician Paul Rossi. In April 1995, she married actor Nicolas Cage (with whom she would later co-star in Martin Scorsese’s Bringing Out the Dead). They separated after nine months, but remained a couple in public until Cage filed for divorce in February 2000.
Arquette and actor Thomas Jane were engaged in 2002 and have a daughter, Harlow Olivia Calliope. Arquette and Jane subsequently married on June of 2006. Two and a half years later Arquette filed for divorce on grounds of irreconcilable differences, but then reconciled with Jane, abandoning the divorce petition in July of 2009. But a year later Jane's representative announced that Arquette and Jane had decided to proceed with a divorce, once again due to “irreconcilable differences.” They were granted joint custody of their daughter.
