His birth name is Norman Fell and he was born on March 24, 1924 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Norman Fell passed away on December 14, 1998, in Woodland Hills, California, at the Motion Picture and Television Fund's retirement home. He was 74 years old, when he died of cancer.

He graduated from Temple University with a degree in drama. Norman served his country during World War 1, serving in the Air Force as a tail gunner in the Pacific Theatre; a dangerous occupation.

Fell's first regular TV appearance was in the 1956 comedy series, Joe & Mabel. Norman Fell is best known in TV, as playing Stanley Roper, the landlord in the very popular Three's Company, which debuted in 1977. This role is the one that won him a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor.

Norman Fell also was seen as a guest star on television shows, including The Fresh Prince Of Bel-air, Life With Louie, Ellen, and Good Grief.
