About Michelle Williams (1980 – )
Michelle Ingrid Williams (born September 9, 1980 in Kalispell, Montana) is an American actress whom first achieved recognition for her role as Jen Lindley on The WB television teen drama, Dawson's Creek, from 1998 to 2003.

Michelle's first starring film role was in the film Species (1995) followed by A Thousand Acres (1997) and Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998).

In 2005 Audiences took note of Michelle's performance in Ang Lee's Brokeback Mountain. For that performance she won a Critic's Choice Award and received Golden Globe, BAFTA, and Academy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress.

Michelle continued to work, co-starring opposite Ewan McGregor in the thriller Deception (2008), then starred in Charlie Kaufman's directorial debut, Synecdoche, New York (2008). She earned considerable critical acclaim - and an Independent Spirit Award nomination - for her leading role in Wendy And Lucy (2008).

She worked with filmmaking legend Martin Scorsese on the gothic revival mystery, Shutter Island (2010), opposite Leonardo DiCaprio.

The end of the decade saw Michelle alongside Ryan Gosling in the romantic drama Blue Valentine (2010). The small independent film received strong critical praise, and earned Williams Indie Spirit, Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations for Best Actress.
