Mary Stuart Masterson was born on June 28, 1966 in New York, New York.

The daughter of writer, director, and actor Peter Masterson her mother as well is a known actress Carlin Glynn who in 2005 was in Whiskey School this movie was directed by her husband Peter Masterson which also starred Mary Stuart Masterson and the cinematography was by her son Peter Masterson.

Alexandra Masterson and Peter Masterson both in the entertainment field are Mary Stuart Masterson brother and sister. Alexandra has been in a few films including Smoke Screen and Blood Red, Peter on the other hand is usually found on the other side of the camera with camera operations.

Oddly enough in 2004 Peter Masterson was the assistant camera person in the remake of The Stepford Wives which starred Nicole Kidman, Matthew Broderick, Bette Midler and Glen Close.
