About Marisa Tomei (1964- )

Marisa Tomei was born on December 4th, 1964 in Brooklyn, New York.

Tomei dropped out of Boston University her sophomore year when she got a co-starring role on the CBS daytime drama "As the World Turns."

Marisa Tomei made the cross over into movies in "The Flamingo Kid" (1984). One of her early memorable roles was playing Sylvester Stallone's bratty daughter in the comedy "OSCAR." She also had a part as silent-screen comedienne Mabel Normand, in the 1992 film "Chaplin."

In 1992, Marisa Tomei played in MY COUSIN VINNY, as the girlfriend of an accused murderer, and won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her performance.  Tomei was again nominated for the Supporting Oscar for her work in IN THE BEDROOM,  a 2001 movie in which she portrays the love interest of a college student, whose estranged husband is stalking her.  Tomei played in the 2001 comedy, WHAT WOMEN WANT, as Mel Gibson's disgruntled ex-lover. 

In 2003, Marisa Tomei played with Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler in ANGER MANAGEMENT, as the girlfriend of a schlumpf court ordered to undergo "Anger Management" with a crazed counselor,  A wacky road trip ensues, with the counselor attempting to usurp the affections of the girlfriend.

In the 2008 drama, THE WRESTLER, Marisa Tomei plays a stripper who dates an aging professional wrestler in the throes of a mid-life crisis, played by Mickey Rourke.
