Liv Tyler was born on July 1, 1977 in New York City, New
York.
She is the daughter of Steven Tyler of the band Aerosmith,
Liv Tyler didn't meet her father until 1988, her mother is
Bebe Buell, former model and Playboy Playmate of the Month.
Liv Tyler's mother named her after Liv Ullmann because she
was on the cover of TV Guide the week Liv was born, her name
Liv means 'life' in Norwegian, Swedish and Danish. Growing
up, Liv thought that rock star Todd Rundgren was her father.
But as she was growing up Tyler began dropping by to visit,
and Liv noticed that his daughter Mia looked enough like her
to be her twin. She confronted her mother, and was told the
truth; by the time she was 12 she had taken her father's name.
For the making of THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE FELLOWSHIP
OF THE RING in 2001 Liv Tyler learned swordfighting for her
role as Arwen but the script was changed and she never got
to use her swordfighting skills.
Tyler was voted #2 in TheAge.com's Top 100: Natural Beauties
of all time. Liv Tyler was voted the 6th Sexiest Female Movie
Star in the Australian Empire Magazine in 2002. Aerosmith's
video "Crazy", in which Liv co-starred with Alicia Silverstone,
was voted #23 in VH1's top 100 music videos of all time.
During filming for THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE FELLOWSHIP
OF THE RING she left her pair of prosthetic ears on the dashboard
of her car, when she returned to her car they had melted.
