Her given birth name was Lisa Michelle Boney. Lisa is a child of a Jewish mother and a black father. Lisa Bonet's father was a music teacher. Her parents divorced when Lisa was young.
Living most of her life in New York and Los Angeles, Lisa Bonet, attended Reseda High School and Celluloid Actor's Studio.
At the age of eleven, Lisa Bonet began acting in commercials for television.
At the age of sixteen, Lisa Bonet, landed the role of Denise Huxtable on the hit comedy TV series, THE COSBY SHOW. The show made her a popular actress. She played the part of Denise Huxtable for 74 episodes between 1984-1991.
In the mid 1980's Lisa Bonet met Lenny Kravitz at a concert in Los Angeles. At the time he was a struggling musician. In 1987, Lisa married Lenny in Las Vegas. In 1988 they had a daughter named Zoe. By 1989, Lenny Kravitz had his first major record deal and recorded his first album, LET LOVE RULE. Lisa Bonet, his wife, co-wrote a couple of the songs on his album. Lisa and Lenny were divorced in 1993
In 1992, Lisa Bonet began a relationship with yoga instructor Bryan Kest. They had a child in the mid-90's. Since the birth of her child, she has cut back on her acting dramatically. Lisa Bonet had her name changed legally to Lilakoi Moon in 1995.
In 1987, Lisa Bonet stared in the controversial movie, ANGEL HEART. She played in nude and sex scenes, a long ways from her part of Cosby's daughter on THE COSBY SHOW. This movie prompted her exit from THE COSBY SHOW.
With Bill Cosby's help, Lisa Bonet starred in another comedy series called A DIFFERENT WORLD in 1987. As a result of personal problems, Lisa was fired from the series.
Cree Summer is Lisa Bonet's best friend. She co-starred with Lisa in A DIFFERENT WORLD.
Shedding her little girl image, Lisa Bonet posed suggestively for the ROLLING STONE magazine in 1998.
She is currently working on the production of GAMBIT which is due to come out in 2007. Lisa Bonet currently is living in the Los Angeles Area with her family.
