About Keith David (1956 – )
Keith David Williams was born on June 4th, 1956 in Harlem, New York and was raised in Queens.
He knew he wanted to be an actor when he was just two years old. The dream to be a professional actor was discovered while in the school production of The Wizard of Oz as the cowardly lion. After this he attended New York's High School of the Performing Arts and went on to study at Juilliard.
Directly after graduation he got his professional start as an understudy for Tullus Aufidius in Shakespeare's Coriolanus. He received his first Tony Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in the Broadway Musical Jelly's Last Jam.
He was married to wife Margit Edwards Williams in 1990 but they were later divorced.
He often plays irritable characters with short tempers and is known for his Deep Orson Welles-like voice.
