Jonathan Ke Quan (1971 - )

Jonathan Ke Quan was born in Saigon, Vietnam on August 20, 1971. His given name at birth was Ke Huy-Quan.

Jonathan attended Alhambra High School in Alhambra, California. After High School he attended and graduated from  the University of Southern California School of Cinema Television.  He speaks fluent English, Vietnamese, Cantonese and Mandarin.

On the set of INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM in 1984, Jonathan studied Tae Kwon Do under Philip Tand and Tao-liang Tan.  When he phoned his mother on the set,  he referred to George Lucas and Steven Spielberg as bearded man 1 and bearded man 2.  Jonathan's brother actually auditioned for the role in INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM and he was just tagging along.  The casting people saw him and picked him instead.

In the scene of the rocks falling from the cave in the movie, GOONIES, Jonathan scremed Holy SH-i-t.  He spelled out the expletive rather than saying the actual word. He had promised his mother he would use no bad language in the film.

Cyndi Luper chose Jonathan to be in her music video, THE GOONIES R GOOD ENOUGH.

Jonathan was nominated to receive the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror films in 1985 for his role in INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM.

Jonathan Ke Quan was number 67 in 2005 on the vhl's list of 100 Greatest Kid Stars.

Presently, Jonathan Ke Quan is a martial artist and works as a stunt coordinator.
