About Jack Black (1969 – )
Jack Black was born on August 28, 1969, in Hermosa Beach, California, the son of parents who were both satellite engineers: Judith Love Cohen, and Thomas Willam Black. His father converted to Judiasm because Judith was Jewish. Thomas Black is Jack Black's birth name. He also has used the nicknames JB and Jables.
When Jack was ten, his parents divorced, and he lived with his father, but saw his mother often because she lived close by.
Jack went to a private, secondary school, Poseidon School in Santa Monica, and Crossroads School of the Arts and Sciences. Poseidon School was created for students who had trouble conforming to the traditional public school. Crossroads School of the Arts and Sciences as a private high school aimed at kids who were gifted in the arts and sciences.
While attending college at UCLA, Jack Black was part of Tim Robbins' Acting Troupe. JAck dropped out during his sophmore year to pursue a career in entertainment.
Being part of this group gave Black the opportunity for his debut in Bob Roberts. In this 1992 movie, Bob Roberts, Jack Black also sang backup for the songs in the film.
Sometimes Jack Black is credited as "Tenacious D."
Jack Black is a member of The Frat Pack, along with Will Ferrell, Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, and Ben Stiller. This is a name that the media has given the group from a reference to the film, Old School, which came out, in 2003. This film's cast included actors Vaughn, Ferrell and Luke Wilson.

Jack Black married the love of his life, musician Tanya Hayden on MArch 14th, 2006. They have two sons.
