About George Hamilton (1939 – )

George Hamilton was born on August 12, 1939, in Memphis, Tennessee. His father was bandleader George Spike Hamilton, and his mother was Anne Stevens, who had been married before to a Mr. Potter. George had an older half--brother, William Potter, and a younger brother, David Hamilton. His parents divorced, and his mother went on to marry twice more, providng George with two step fathers; Carleton Hunt and Jesse Spalding.

His father, George Sr., didn't pick well a second time, when he married June Howard, who promptly seduced young George who was only twelve. Today, that would be considered sexual child abuse. Needless to say, George lived with his mother and brothers.

In 1963, George Hamilton had Hit #134 on the Billboard Singles Charts with ''Don't Envy Me''.

In George Hamilton's first film, after just getting a contract with MGM, he was given a starring role in the 1959 film, CRIME & PUNISHMENT.

One of George Hamilton's best parts was playing country music legend, Hank Williams, in YOUR CHEATING HEART in 1965.

Re-uniting after their divorce, Alana and George Hamilton did a brief stint on TV with their talk show GEORGE & ALANA, in 1996.

George Hamilton's trade mark of having a perpetual tan got him his nickname, "The Tanned One".

When movie offers became fewer in the 1980s, George Hamilton started his own line of beauty products: The George Hamilton Skin Care System and the George Hamilton Sun Care System and tanning salons.

George Hamilton Is often confused with actor Warren Beatty. In his cameo in the 1998 film, BULWORTH, George Hamilton jokes about this happening.
In 2009, George Hamilton was the executive producer of the film, MY ONE AND ONLY, which was loosely based on his experiences with his mother.

On August 12th, 2009, George Hamilton was awarded a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame, located at at 7021 Hollywood Boulevard.

Starting in the fall of 2011, Hamilton starred as "Georges" for the national tour of the Tony-winning revival of La Cage aux Folles. He was still starring in the show as of June 2012.
