Fiona Shaw was born on July 10, 1958 in County Cork, Ireland.
Fiona was awarded an honorary Commander of the order of
the British Empire in 2001. At the Evening Standard Theatre
Awards Fiona was named Best Actress for MEDEA (2002)
Shaw was awarded the Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 1990
for Best Actress in a New Play for ELECTRA, AS YOU LIKE IT,
and THE PERSON OF SICHAUN. Then again in 1994 for Best Actress
for her performance in MACHINAL.
Fiona Shaw also won the 1989 London Critics Circle Theatre
Award for Best Actress in ELECTRA and THE GOOD PERSON OF SICHUAN.
Then again in 1991 for Best Actress in HEDA GABLER.
