About Eva Longoria (1975 – )

Eva Longoria was born on March 15, 1975, in Corpus Christi, Texas into a Roman Catholic, Mexican American family; being the youngest of four daughters. Her parents were Ella Eva and Enrique Longoria, Jr.. Eva grew up on a ranch. For a long time, Eva thought that maybe she was adopted, because her sisters all have fair skin and blue eyes until she realized that genetics can bring surprises to any family.

Sometimes, Eva Longoria is credited as Eva Longoria Christopher. Eva's birth name is Eva Jacqueline Longoria.

Eva Longoria so far has been unlucky in love. She married Tyler Christopher, in 2002, eloping to Las Vegas. The marriage only lasted two years because she found out that Tyler was a player and cheating on her; being immature and not ready to settle down yet. In 2007, Eva tried marriage again and married French producer and director, Tony Parker, on July 6th, 2007, in Paris, France. That marriage too ended in divorce in 2011.

Eva continues to have a positive attitude about relationships. "I love men, I love being in love and having romantic dates." Hopefully, Eva will find the love of her life.

Eva Longoria currently is a producer, director, activist, and businesswoman. She is known for her charity work. One of her many charities is EVA'S HEROES, an organization that helps developmentally disabled children. She founded it in 2006, the first of many opportunities that she involved herself in, making good use of her time and money.

Eva shared in an interview, "You can't do it all. So one thing I consciously did was to focus on humans. Let me tell you, in America there are as many nonprofits for saving puppies, dogs, cats and fish as for humans or children. I don't want PETA to jump all over me, but I just think, 'You know what? I'm going to dedicate my efforts to human beings.'"

While attending Texas A&M University-Kingsville where Eva earned her B.S. Degree in kinesiology, she entered a beauty contest, and won the title of Miss Corpus Christi, USA, in 1998. Being a former Miss Corpus Christi USA, was a start for Eva Longoria. Eva entered another contest in Los Angeles, where she was noticed by a theatrical agent, and was signed to a contract.

Taking an uncredited role in 2000, Eva Longoria played Brenda Barrett's look-alike in the day time soap, GENERAL HOSPITAL.

Eva Longoria Played Isabella Brana Williams on the hit day time soap, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS from 2001 - 2003. She won an ALMA Award for Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama.

As Det. Gloria Duran, Eva Longoria was on the TV series, DRAGNET in 2003-2004.

She was co-owner, with Todd English, of "Beso", Latin-style steakhouses in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

In 2004, Eva Longoria took a new step in her entertainment career, she co-produced the indie film, CARLITA'S SECRET. Longoria also played the starring role of Carlita. She was nominated for a DVD Exclusive Award for Best Actress.

It was the hit TV series, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, that made Eva Longoria's role, homewrecker Gabrielle Solis, a huge star and sex symbol in 2004. This resulted in Eva being voted #3 on E!'s 50 Steamiest Southern Stars. She received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance during the 2005 season.

While on set for the hit show, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, Eva Longoria was accidentally hit on the head by a falling pole, that knocked her out for four minutes. After going to the hospital, she recovered. Another accident on the set happened when she fell down some stairs, badly bruising her ribs. Luckily, she is a tough cookie!

In 2005 Eva Longoria was #1 on Maxim magazine's 'Top 100' list. and Eva Longoria became a spokesmodel for Hanes.

Eva Longoria has been on several TV talk shows as a special guest star, including: LIVE WITH REGIS AND KATHIE LEE, LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O'BRIEN, THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW, and THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO.

In 2012, Eva was nominated for an ALMA Award for Best Actress in the film, FOR GREATER GLORY: THE TRUE STORY OF CRISTIADA.

In 2013, Eva Longoria earned her master's degree in Chicano Studies from California State University, Northridge, after three years of study.

Eva Longoria has a healthy outlook about her success and being thankful for it. "I'm a late bloomer, my looks came pretty late and success happened at the age of 30. But I'm pleased about things not coming to me immediately because it makes you appreciate it when you finally get it."
