Elizabeth McGovern was born on July 18, 1961 in Evanston, Illinois. Elizabeth dropped out of college when she was studying acting at Julliard in order to accept the role in ORDINARY PEOPLE.

In 1981 Elizabeth McGovern gave a great performance as Evelyn Nesbit in RAGTIME for which she earned an Academy Award nomination as Best Supporting Actress.
