About Dee Wallace Stone (1948 – )
Dee Wallace Stone was educated at the University of Kansas. She began her performing career as a ballet soloist. Stone entered movies with a number of horror and sci-fi films. Stone was beleaguered by cannibals in THE HILLS HAVE EYES (1977), chased by werewolves in THE HOWLING (1981), and threatened by a St. Bernard run-amuck in CUJO (1983).
But she also had the chance to play the nice mom in the classic E.T.: THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL (1982).
Dee Wallace Stone has been a guest star on many television series, including THE NEW LASSIE, L.A. LAW, TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL, ALLIE MCBEAL, SONS AND DAUGHTERS, GREY'S ANATOMY, and SAVING GRACE.
Wallace Stone explained her success – "I'm the girl next door who learned how to make life work the hard way. I lived it. Victim to victory. When you find the joy, you have to share it."
Of her dance training, she remarked, "A dancer knows how to move naturally. Dancing allows me to do almost subliminal things as an actress that the audience might sense, but yet not be fully aware of."
