Daniel Craig (1968 - )

Daniel Wroughton Craig was born (March 2nd, 1968) in Chester, England, the son of an art teacher and  a mid-shipman in the merchant navy. Daniel's father eventually retired from the navy and worked in steel, and variety of jobs, including being the landlord of two pubs, "Ring 'O Bells" and "The Boot Inn". Daniel''s parents divorced in 1972, and he grew up in Liverpool, then in Hoylake, Wirral with his older sister, Lea and brother Adam, in Liverpool, then in Hoylake, and West Kirby.

Daniel Craig's acting talent appeared early, at the age of 6, which was encouraged by his mother. At 16 years old, he moved to London, and joined the National Youth Theatre, while attending the 1880 Music and Arts College, Guildhall School of Music and Drama. After graduating in 1991, Daniel found  steady work in British TV as an actor.

In 1996, Daniel was first noticed and loved by the British public in the popular, yet controversial nine episode TV mini-series, "Our Friends in the North." He was on a roll in his career, and took on an interesting character, playing the rejected gay partner of an Irish painter, in BBC's TV movie, "Love Is the Devil: Study for a Portrait of Francis Bacon".

After giving a fine performance in the British TV mystery drama, "The Block House,"  he got a small part in the film, ELIZABETH. The film which brought him international exposure in "Laura Croft:Tomb Raiders", as Angela Jolie's love interest. This showed the world audience that Daniel Craig can portray an action role.

In 2002, Daniel took on the character of a dastardly, hitman in  the academy award-winning ROAD TO PERDITION.  Daniel's biggest feather in his hat is signing a 5 film contract to play the new James Bond in the famous series of film. The first film, CASINO ROYALE, came out in 2006, which grossed $594 million, pointing to Daniel's ability to not only carry the film, but give an interesting portrayal of James Bond.
