Buddy Hackett was born on August 31, 1924, in Brooklyn, New York.

He passed away on June 30, 2003 in Los Angeles, California, from natural causes.

Buddy Hackett's birth name was Leonard Hacker. Hackett used the name Lenny Hacker as the name of a character for the TV Series, Space Rangers; (1993).

Hackett was one of the biggest headliners in Las Vegas history. He debuted his self-proclaimed "saloon" comedy there, in 1952.

Although he was a nightclub legend, Hackett mostly appeared in family-oriented films.

Buddy appeared in the Broadway musicals Lunatics and Lovers and I Had a Ball.

He quit doing appearances, in 1996, after suffering bouts of stage fright.
