his birth name.
Earning the nickname "Wild Bill" with friends and co-stars
for his crazed sense of humor and his love for elaborate pranks.
When Bill Paxton was 18 he found work in the film industry
as a set dresser for Roger Corman's at New World Pictures.
This job lead to small roles.

roles as Wyatt Earp's naive younger brother Morgan in TOMBSTONE
in 1993 and as Fred Haise, and as one of the three astronauts
in APOLLO 13 in 1995.
In 1982 Bill Paxton Directed the theatrical short FISH HEADS
which won a Special Award at the Melbourne Film Festival.
Co-author and producer of the short film SCOOP in 1983,
which won Bill Paxton a Honorable Mention at the 1983 USA
Film Festival.
