About Bernadette Peters (1948 –)

On February 28, 1948 in Ozone Park Queens, New York,  Bernadette Peters was born Bernadette Lazzara.

Bernadette Peters was born of Italian descent. She changed her last name to Peters (her father's first name), to avoid being typecast in Italian roles. Peters' father drove a bread truck.

Donna DeSeta is Bernadette Peters' younger sister. She is the aunt of Tian DeSeta. Bernadette Peters' other two siblings are Joseph and Donna.

Bernadette Peters was married to Michael Wittenberg, who died on September 26, 2005 in a helicopter crash in Podgorica Montenegro.

The 5'3" Redhead with the big voice, Bernadette Peters, has her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Hollywood, California.

Bernadette Peters has the honor of being the youngest performer to be inducted in the "Theater Hall of Fame."
