As Indy!
|
Many say they fell in love with him when
he starred as "Indie" or "Junior",
in "The Chronicles Of Indiana Jones" (1981-).
However, Ford made a name for himself long before, starring
in the phenomenal George Lucas Blockbuster trilogy, "Star
Wars". His sarcastic attitude, along with a hint
of "I don't give a darn" persona, Ford was a
shoe-in for acceptance by the male population. The women
loved him because of his cockiness, self-reassurance,
and good looks. Stardom was inevitable, but he proved
that he was more than deserving of the success time and
again with one great blockbuster after another.
The 1970 's found him in a few films,
here and there, like 74 's "The Conversation",
and 1979 's "Apocalypse Now". But, his real
success, after the two trilogies, took off with 1982 's
"Blade Runner", 1985 's "Witness",
and 86 's "The Mosquito Coast".
A few years of absence from the film
industry was enough for Ford, before he was ready to get
back in the swing of things. So in 1990, he came through
as an adulterous lawyer in "Presumed Innocent".
In '91, he played a brain-dead yuppie, in "Regarding
Henry", and in 1993 , kept us on the edge of our
seats with "The Fugitive". Once a carpenter,
he seems to have retained the importance and practice
of being humble, only now he has added the grave charisma
of a Fonda or a Cooper to boot. (CD)
