Tom Cruise is known to make
the ladies swoon. Time and time again he has delivered
performances that have sent the women falling head over
heels for the dark and handsome lady's man. As a paraplegic
Vietnam veteran, in 1989's "Born On The Fourth Of
July", he delivered a heartwarming performance. Even
better was his character as a pool shark in "The
Color Of Money". Let's not forget, however, his performance
in "The Firm" (1993), that truly showed his
growth of maturity compared to his spunky, rebellious
flick, "Top Gun" (1986).
As time went on Tom only
found himself starring in lead roles in many hit films
like 1995's "Mission Impossible", and his oh
so sentimental flick, "Jerry Maguire" (1996)
Perhaps it was this latter movie that finally showed the
fully matured and polished actor he had become. He was
finally Tom Cruise, instead of just Tom Cruise. In a way,
he finally became life-size.
But to forget his classic
1980's flicks, like 1983's "The Outsiders" and
"Risky Business", would be denying yourself
the visual comprehension of his growth as an actor, and
to see that the ability which was always there from the
start. Tom was destined to be a star, and anyone who knew
him when he was younger, could tell by the way he walked,
and the charisma in which he delivered some of his first
lines to the camera. (CD)
